The electronic design of all our products is being continously improved,
yet we do need help with the aestethics of the amplifier(s).
This page is dedicated to the people that are the true audiophiles, with
all their heart (just like us) and who also have (or at least, think that have)
the talent for industrial design, willing to .
It is the time for us to improve the visual look of the OTL, after the 10-year
production. We intend to keep the main chassis made out of steel, but all
other details are yet to be defined...
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE DESIGN:
- anyone, regardless of his/her profession, age or gender can participate
- the conceptual or/and true design (with tech.drawings) can be submitted, with our recommendation
for 3D illustration to be sent along, for our easier understanding of the main idea
- not neccessarily the future design should be a 2-chassis unit; you can propose a single-chassis
solution - yet, take in account that such unit will be approximately 35 - 40 kg (70-80 lbs) heavy. In
that case pay attention to the problem of the manipulation and try to technically solve it (handles,
or some other solution, and of course - by not ruining the unit's general aesthetics !)
- special attention should be given to the front faceplate and it must be out of brushed anodized
aluminum - shape, curvings, thickness, color - it is all left to your imagination (we unfortunatelly
are the engineers and have a lack for such approach); should the control knob have the LED-type
round scale around it; should our logo emit the light...?; we don't know yet, try to do your best.
- there's no design, regardless of its visual beauty which will become a true product if it is not
possible to manufacture it - always keep in mind the question "how would I make this ?"
THIS CONTEST IS ON A VOLUNTEERING BASE. HOWEVER, VDN ELECTRONICS IS OFFERING THE
FOLLOWING:
- ALL PARTICIPANTS' NAMES WILL BE CLEARLY NOTED ON THIS SECTION OF OUR WEBSITE, ALONG
WITH THE PROPOSED DESIGN PICTURE/ILLUSTRATION, AS SOON AS WE RECIEVE IT.
